Since February 2016, Enrico Mayrhofer has been working as Head of the Representation of Tuscany Region to the European Union, representing Tuscan interests in Brussels, supporting the work of Regional Managing authorities in the field of Structural funds and ensuring the liaison between the Tuscan territory and the EU.
Previously, he was the Director for Communications at the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR), an association which brings together some 150 regions from 28 Member States, representing almost 200 million people and campaigning in favour of a more balanced development of Europe. At the CPMR, he was also the Editor in chief of the CPMR newsletter that reaches more than 3,000 people amongst which are Presidents of Regions, MEPs, Commissioners and EU, national and regional officers.
Enrico Mayrhofer has been member of the Italian “Ordine Nazionale dei Giornalisti” since 2004 and he has worked as an EU correspondent for different media.
From 1999 to 2005, he has also worked at the European Parliament as Political Advisor.
Expert in Institutional lobby and with a Master Degree in Economics, Enrico Mayrhofer is the author of the “EU Lobbying as strategic communication tool” in the frame of the publication “Communicating Europe in Italy” edited by the European Parliament and the University of Macerata (IT).
