Professor Xavier Font is professor of sustainability marketing at the School of Hospitality and Tourism, University of Surrey (UK), and professor II at the School of Business and Economics, the Arctic University of Norway.
He is a world leader in applied research on sustainable tourism behaviour. He has consulted for five UN agencies, the World Bank, the European Commission, the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, various governments, industry associations and the private sector.
His responsibilities include being editor-in-chief of the Journal of Sustainable Tourism. Since September 2019, he has been the principal investigator for the University of Surrey in a EUR 23.5 million Interreg-funded project to reduce winter seasonality in the UK and France by supporting the development of an experiential, sustainable tourism offering that improves the economy, contributes to healthy communities and preserves the environment.
