Luis Maroto has been president and CEO of Amadeus since January 2011.
He joined the company in 2000 as director of marketing finance, having started his professional career with the Bertelsmann Group. In 2003 he was appointed chief financial officer, taking responsibility for the global Amadeus finance organisation.
During this time, he successfully oversaw the company’s first IPO, while the business continued its international expansion. In 2009 he became deputy CEO and was instrumental in Amadeus’s return to the stock market in April 2010. In 2011, he became president and CEO, and his focus has since been on driving the company’s growth while supporting the IT and distribution needs of customers across the travel sector. Under his leadership, the company entered the EuroStoxx 50 Index in 2018.
A Spanish citizen, he holds a degree in law from the Complutense University, Madrid, and an MBA from the IESE Business School.
